Course Description
Examine core Existentialist Texts, Concepts and Experiences, and consider their expression in related literary works and films. Existential thought and categories are individual and concrete, so literature and films exhibit most powerful Existentialist expressions that repay critical examination.

Course Objectives
To explore: What is Existentialism? Who are the thinkers? What are the core issues and responses? How does it relate to our life? How are Existentialist experiences, motifs and issues expressed in film and literature? What is the lasting significance of Existentialism?

Requirements: 1) Prepare well, participate fully in all class discussions, give some short presentations, 2) do a research project, 3) give oral presentation of research project, 3) submit research paper |
